Fresh citrus fruits are a highlight during the cold winter months, and I cherish their tart, bright flavors when bundled up in sweaters and scarves. Oranges and lemon enhance vegetables like artichokes or carrots with a lemony olive oil absorb a complex and rich blend of flavors. Grapefruit stars in a refreshing shaved fennel salad or adding juicy pink grapefruit segments to a simple lemon sorbet adds a delightful zing.

Winter Parties
New Year's Day Pajama Party
What better way to ring in the first day of the New Year than with a leisurely Pajama and Board Game Party. After a late night of cheers with Champagne "Champers," dancing or watching the ball drop, a pajama party and late--well, very late brunch is just what your fellow revelers will need! My dear friends, Ian and Sylvia, held this tradition for years in the heart of New York City. Imagine, we all hopped in taxis adorned in our favorite pjs and robes, toting a snack or special beverage from a country we had visited earlier in the year. It certainly was a day to remember!
Super Bowl Party Playbook
For football season keep everything quick, easy and social. Find foods that can be cooked in less than 15 minutes or prepared ahead of time, if necessary. With a bit of ease and gourmet zest, here are a few of my playbook favorites.
Valentine's Day Inter-Courses
Whether you're looking for love or reveling in your single status, dish these party favorites to unleash your inner Cupid. With the Aztecs or ancient Greek and Roman gods’ example of eating foods that inspire love include almonds, pistachios, avocado slices, arugula, basil, figs, oysters, chiles, strawberries and dark chocolate in your aphrodisian menu plans!
